During maternity leave you will continue to make contributions and these will be based on the pay you actually
receive. If you receive less than your usual basic salary, HBOS will add the amount needed to match your normal
contributions.
HBOS contributions to your retirement account will also continue and will be based on your basic salary prior to maternity leave.
If Your Pay Reduces to Zero During Maternity Leave
If your pay reduces to zero during maternity leave, then your own contributions and HBOS’ contributions will cease. However, your death in service benefits will continue and you can resume your pension contributions when you return to work.
If you wish, you can make contributions to cover those you missed while on zero pay. If you do this, HBOS will also add its own corresponding contributions for this period.
